Each one is presented as a part of an intriguing caricature - England as Queen Victoria, France as a hook-nosed lady and Germany as a dancing lady. The outline of each map is woven into the fabric of the caricature in a stunningly imaginative manner. Each map is brightly colored and contains a lot of geographical detail.

A girl was bored. Her brother was ill and in bed. She decides to entertain the brother and ends up producing caricatures of class. This was how the father of the girl, realized that his daughter, not quite 15 years of age, had the exceptional talent of presenting objects in a humorously-entertaining style - as stunningly-imaginative caricatures.

This was the beginning of an effort that resulted in the production of some of the most unusual maps of European countries the world has ever seen. It surely took exceptional skill, talent and vision to present the maps in such delightful and insightful manner - Scotland as a struggling bagpiper, England hidden behind the caricature of Queen Victoria and Russia dressed up as an Emperor.

The use of bright colors and vivid imagery make each of the twelve maps on this CD even more eye-catching. As if this wasn't allurement enough, each map is accompanied by some exquisitely-composed rhymes, which in an equally-humorous manner extol the virtues of the country shown in the map.

These maps were produced with the intention of making the study of maps more appealing to young scholars who normally think globes and maps are wearisome. I am confident that this purpose has been served many a times over.
